The newest wave of baby-toting immigrants from the UWS has laid claim to this upmarket café–wine bar–food shop. An oak bar, exposed-brick walls, and tables and chairs from the set of The Sopranos (the owner was a producer) are the setting for Italian-inflected offerings like a panino of roasted chicken breast, applewood smoked bacon, roasted red peppers and provolone, or a cured-meat platter with Arthur Avenue sausage. For liquid refreshment, choose a French-press pot of organic, fair-trade coffee or a glass from the small, select wine list, featuring bottles from both the expected (France) and the unexpected (Texas).
