Among the many landmarks in Washington D.C., Ben’s Chili Bowl is one of the finest. Established in 1958 by Ben and Virginia Ali, the D.C. counter is known for its half smoke and world famous chili, feeding leaders of the Civil Rights Movement such as Martin Luther King Jr. and John Lewis, to feeding modern day dignitaries including President Barack Obama. For the first-time ever, Ben's Chili Bowl is coming up north to New York.
This month, Ben's Chili Bowl is collaborating with Hamburger America for its monthly burger series. Fans of both burgers and chili can order the Ben’s Chili Cheeseburger, a classic quarter pound patty with American cheese, diced lettuce, mayo and its signature Chili Sauce. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Ben's Chili Bowl Foundation to provide service to neighborhoods in D.C. Catch it now until March 5th.
