Who knew a tiny café-cum-DJ-hut could wield such influence? Mark Chung and Carmen Grau’s Grand 275 has gone a long way toward transforming a formerly sketchy block. Chung and Grau (previously of Mesa Grill and the Odeon, respectively) have been welcomed in turn by a neighborhood hungry for stylish grub. A community garden donates fresh mint for mojitos, and Pratt students swarm in for Sunday’s $11.95 mimosa brunches. The Grand’s 2am closing time never fails to disappoint late-night partyers. The good news is, they can always get some shut-eye and come back at 11am, when the doors open for breakfast.
