Gourmet Dog (CLOSED)

Just across from the home of the Staten Island Yankees (location, location, location!), this four-month-old hot-dog shop offers nine specialty franks, and around 20 toppings should you choose to design your own. We like the Sweet & Sour—a hefty apple-stuffed chicken sausage sliced in half, grilled and served in a fluffy kaiser roll with sauerkraut and spicy mustard ($2.50). Don’t miss the thick-sliced house-made coleslaw, or the pretty countertop display of candied and caramel apples.
