Have you ever had a suppli before? Not to be confused with arancini, this fried Roman street food is made with rice, tomato sauce and mozzarella. If you haven’t had a taste, you are in luck as Forsythia is celebrating this bite-sized snack all summer long. Starting July 22 until August 25, the Roman trattoria is collaborating with several chefs around New York to offer limited edition suppli's. Chef Kevin Rezvani of 7th Street Burger (July 22 to July 28) will showcase a cheeseburger suppli while chef Lena Ciardullo (July 29 to August 4) from Union Square Cafe is recreating the classic Sicilian dish, pasta alla norma, for her creation. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Food Education Fund, a nonprofit supporting culinary-focused public high school students in New York City.
