After catering fashion and film shoots for the past 11 years—and feeding the staff of Emeril Lagasse’s shows at the Food Network—chef-owner Jonathan Forgash has opened his own restaurant in Long Island City. Located just a few blocks from P.S. 1 and next to Silvercup Studios, Film Chefs now caters to locals, serving breakfast and lunch from 7am to 3:30pm on weekdays only. The place is small—just a dozen stools lining a stainless steel counter— but the menu is enormous. It’s a compilation of dishes film clients have requested, including old-fashioned heros, wraps and classic chopped salads. The prices are the real showstoppers. Breakfast options max out at $2.50, and only one item costs more than $7.95: the super burger.
