It’s no surprise to find homestyle fare with Pan-Asian flair here—one co-owner is executive chef Myung Ja Kwak, who, with design-guru daughter Jenny, opened Dok Suni’s and helped ignite a nouveau-Korean trend. In fact, Jenny’s sister Moon Sun is Do Hwa’s pastry chef. Classic dishes continue to please, whether or not you’ve cooked them yourself (some tables have built-in barbecues). Newer items include duk boki, sticky-rice cakes sautéed with vegetables in a red-pepper sauce. The movie-poster covers on the menus are a shout-out to the other co-owner, Quentin Tarantino.
