Back in 2023, Joshua Dat was fulfilling a customer's order of his signature dish: a Jamaican beef patty filled with macaroni and cheese. But before he wrapped it up, the customer asked if they could add a ladle of oxtail gravy on top. And thus, the famous dish oxtail mac patty was born. With lines snaking out of the door at the Queens deli location, Dat brought the viral sensation to the Lower East Side, opening up a second shop in 2023. But if you don't follow the trends, you can also eat up some Guyanese classics, like curry goat and jerk chicken.
