The touristy location makes it all too easy to dismiss Ciao as another Olive Garden Epcot. Don’t. The food is as authentic as owner Marcello Assante’s Neapolitan accent, still strong after 18 years in the U.S. Assante’s casual restaurant was inspired by Italian wine bars, hence the wooden tables and large windows opening onto the street. Keep your order simple. The insalata dolce is a pleasantly light summer salad with morsels of Gorgonzola, pear, avocado and walnuts, and the pappardelle del bosco is winningly fresh.
