Café Regular

This modestly named coffeehouse sits just off a bleak strip of 99-cent and other bargain stores, and its European charm is a welcome contrast. Patrons dart in and out of the slim spot for espressos and iced lattes; others, apparently unencumbered by day jobs, linger at one of the few narrow tables to chat or read a newspaper from the rack up front. If you want fresh pastries, show up early in the day.
