Like the original at Fulton Ferry, the Greenpoint satellite of the BICF does double-duty as a storefront and dedicated, small-batch ice cream factory (this is where strawberry, peach and other, unofficial fruit flavors like blueberry are crafted). Besides the lack of a line, kids may also appreciate the building's history: It was once home to Continental Iron Works, a company that built the first ironclad battleship in the U.S., for use in the Civil War.
