This lively space from brothers Ahmed Shah and Sayed Rohani pays homage to the their native Afghan province, where curries, kebabs and yogurt are dietary staples. Window seats feature Bukharan rugs and pillows that surround traditional low-to-the ground tables, while in the more intimate main dining room features a sky-blue ceiling. The food is hit or miss. Skip the kebabs, which can be dry and overcooked, and stick to more adventuresome fare like the kadu, fried pumpkin-filled turnovers paired with a tangy yogurt dip, or a creamy eggplant and lamb curry.
