Don’t let the name scare you—this Hell’s Kitchen standby serves reliably tasty Tex-Mex cuisine in an infectious, casual and surprisingly stylish atmosphere. Refreshingly absent of the overrated ceviches and inflated prices of faux-upscale Mexican eateries, the dishes at Arriba Arriba! are salty, goopy and—for the most part—delicious. Cheese, refried beans, jalapeños and guacamole coat every chip in the nachos. Standbys like fajitas, pork tinga tacos and enchiladas suiza are simple and satisfying. Even more creative fare, like the crepa de camerones—two flour tortillas stuffed with cheese and sautéed shrimp in a chili cream sauce—are spot-on. Soft amber lighting and a stellar mix of disco, ’80s and hip-hop keep the mood festive and fun.
