Restaurateur Alison Price Becker—who closed Alison on Dominick in 2002 after a 13-year run—returns to Manhattan after operating restaurants in the Hamptons. Robert Gurvich mans the stove, dispatching French-inflected plates like grilled quail risotto with sweet potato and sage; steamed mussels with crème fraîche, vermouth and parsley; and braised short-rib-and-beef shank with cabbage, turnips and potatoes. The 135-seat, bi-level space features tufted dark purple leather banquettes, walnut-wood tables and a working Steinway piano in the downstairs lounge.
