[title]
Three years after fleeing London and killing off a few life peers alongside his waistcoat clad alter ego, Professor Jonathan Moore, Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) is back on home turf for the final season of ‘You.’ The bloodthirsty bookseller we’ve come to know, loathe – and occasionally questionably root for - has put his grave-digging days behind him. He’s settled into the role of dutiful husband to CEO wife Kate (Charlotte Ritchie), appearing on red carpets and magazine covers as the Prince Charming to her C-suite, and playing happy families with his previously estranged son Henry in a brownstone on the Upper East Side.
But like all rampaging psychopaths, Joe starts to miss ‘ridd[ing] the world of assholes,’ and his murder sobriety wavers when his newly created empire comes under threat from a cowboy magnate. Long story short, the reformed dad quickly refamiliarises himself with a pickaxe.
For the final chapter, Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) joins the cast playing Kate’s identical twin sisters Maddie and Reagan, alongside Griffin Matthews (The Flight Attendant) as baby bro Teddy, with Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale) playing Joe’s latest love interest, Bronte.
Here are a few familiar and new locations where the final showdown was filmed:

Bleecker St. subway station
In March 2024, Penn Badgley was seen filming the final season of You near Bleecker Street subway station. Following a global murder spree which took him to LA and London via the ‘burbs, the stalker-tuned-serial-killer is ‘back in the greatest city in the world’. This time though, he’s a public figure, meaning pushing love rivals off parking lot roofs might come with a few more camera flashes and column inches than before.

Tavern on the Green
As the new ‘it couple’ of Manhattan, Joe and Kate are regularly splashed on the covers of magazines and tabloids. In one instance they’re papped playing ‘footsie’ at bougie Central Park restaurant, Tavern on the Green. The former sheepfold serves posh nosh like champagne braised beef and has hosted celebs from Whitney Houston to Joe Biden. It’s also been featured in films including Ghostbusters and Wall Street.
St Jean Baptiste High School
Having been left on the doorstep of his adopted parents at the end of season three, Henry has been yanked back to New York byJoe and enrolled at the Upper East Side’s answer to Eton. It’s at The Baisley School we see the tween-aged Henry show off his acting chops as a cow in the school play – and where a brewing family feud boils over. Many of the school’s exterior shots were filmed at St Jean Baptiste High School, an all-girls Roman Catholic school. Fees start from $13,500 a month, in case you were wondering.

Logos book store, Manhattan
Alongside philanthropy and photoshoots Joe also oversees the running of Mooney’s bookshop, which he’s purchased with his newfound billions. This is where Joe first meets Bronte, an aspiring playwright squatting between historical fiction and graphic novels. She tells him she’s drawn to antiheroes who ‘beast out’ to protect the ones they love. He offers her a job, a free apartment and a kink-filled affair. The Manhattan store is far more PG in real life, specialising in religious texts and children’s books.
Astoria, Queens
One Mills & Boon-esque book, 'The Phantom That Laid Me Bare’, seems to make up about half of Mooney’s’ romantic fiction stocks, so Joe and Bronte head to an estate sale in Queens to restock on smut before heading to a nearby ‘dirt bag literary salon.’ According to TikTok sleuths the home which stood in as a backdrop can be found on 26th Avenue and 12th street in Astoria, Queens.

Laurel Diner, Long Beach
During a lover’s tiff between Joe and Bronte, she flees to Long Island. Not one to let the subject of his obsessions escape his grasp, Joe tracks her down to Laurel Diner in Long Beach thanks to a tip from an employee ‘so stoned he couldn't pick himself out of a line-up’. According to Long Island Business News, the location shoot brought more than $18.4 million to local businesses.

Central Park
In season one we meet Beck’s BFF-cum-stalker Peach. In an iconic one liner she tells Joe that a ‘runner’s high is better than sex’, which he takes as inspiration for plonking her over the head while out for a jog in Central Park. His first murder attempt fails, resulting in a later gunshot wound to the head. This season, the park is more meet-cute than crime scene, and is where Joe takes Bronte on a romantic coffee date. They walk, talk and he offers to buy her an Irish castle as a writer’s retreat.
Old Joliet Prison, Illinois
At the end of season 4, Nadia, one of Joe/Jonathan Moore’s students, is sent to lock-up, having been framed by him for murder. She returns for season five, teaming up with Kate to bring him down. Despite being behind bars in the UK inside what the show is calling, ‘HMP Blackheath’, the jail’s exterior shots are actually of Old Joliet Prison, a now defunct Illinois penitentiary.
