Baseball is (almost!) back and, with it, the New York Transit Museum is once again offering two special nostalgia rides to the Yankees’ and Mets’ home opener games for the regular cost of a subway fare.

The first ride will take place at noon on March 27, departing from the uptown 4 train platform at Grand Central-42 St at approximately noon and reaching Yankee Stadium just in time for the Yankees' first pitch at 3:05pm. Keep in mind that there will be no return trip. The beloved Lo-V Nostalgia Train will arrive first, immediately followed by the Train of Many Colors.

On April 4 at noon, the Mets Nostalgia Train will leave the 34 St-Hudson Yards station on the 7 line and make stops at Times Sq-42 St, 5 Av, Grand Central-42 St, Vernon Blvd-Jackson Av, Hunters Point Av, Court Sq, Queensboro Plaza, 61 St-Woodside and Junction Blvd before arriving at Mets-Willets Point for the first pitch at 3:10pm. The ride will last about 35 minutes in total. Once again, there will be no return trip offered.

To hop on the special cars, just make sure to be on the right platform at the right time on the designated dates. You'll notice the beautiful trains as soon as they'll pull in!

As is always the case, the rides are more than just a mode of transport: folks will immerse themselves in all that the train offers, including old-time seating options, Instagram-perfect handrails, vintage ads and more.

And if you're not a fan of baseball or, perhaps, can't make it to the trains, we suggest that you instead head to the New York Transit Museum in Downtown Brooklyn to gaze at over 20 different subway cars that are housed underground in an authentic 1936 subway station. It is, truly, one of the coolest and best things you can do in New York all year round.
