Just in time for the Winter Olympics, hotel M Social Times Square New York has opened up an ice curling rink inside a heated tent on its rooftop bar and lounge, Beast & Butterflies. The space is open to both hotel guests and passing curling aficionados.

Beast & Butterflies opened to much fanfare this past summer. In addition to the 7,500 square feet of outdoor space overlooking Times Square, the destination offers a list of cocktails curated by consulting beverage director Frank Caiafa (the author of the beloved Waldorf Astoria Bar Book.) Add to it all beautiful views of the city and, now, a curling rink, and you've got yourself the ideal winter station for a fun time out.

Patrons can hit the ice for some curling every day from noon to 10pm as long as they have a reservation, which guarantees them a 45-minute session for $30 per person. Bonus: complimentary Bacardi-spiked warm apple cider cocktails are up for grabs as well!

In the mood for a staycation? You should consider booking one of the hotel's 480 rooms for a leisurely few days. It's actually the perfect time to do so, as NYC Hotel Week is under way, offering New Yorkers a 22 percent discount off standard rates at a total of 110 hotels across all five boroughs (including M Social Times Square New York, of course).

If you're looking for other curling-adjacent opportunities, you should check out the new ice-less curling rink that took over Bryant Park late last year. The destination is also home to a series of cozy igloos that are heated and overlook the park's iconic skating area.

And if ice-skating is more your thing, the city never fails to deliver. Here are the best places to go ice-skating in NYC, including indoor opportunities.
