What happens when two of the most iconic culinary brands in the city collaborate on a dish? An ginormous, gastronomically fantastic treat is born.
Case in point: a new banana pudding stuffed pancakes and fried chicken dish topped with crispy bacon, candied pecans and a maple drizzle that New Yorkers can order at Jacob's Pickles on the Upper West Side, at 509 Amsterdam Avenue by 85th Street, all summer long. The menu item will be available through September 5.
As fans of Magnolia Bakery are well aware of, the dessert shop is famous for its take on banana pudding. Add to that Jacob's Pickles hearty touch (their chicken and pancakes dish is the stuff of legend) and you've got yourself what most people will likely refer to as the ultimate NYC comfort food.
"We love our Upper West Side community and were looking for ways to celebrate the best of the neighborhood and what New Yorkers love most—brunch!," said Bobbie Lloyd, the CEO of Magnolia Bakery, in an official statement about the collaboration.
Lest you find yourself unable to consume the $28 dish by yourself, you should know that the item is designed to be shared among—at the very least—two people simultaneously.
And if it's more traditional midday fare that you're after, worry not. We've got that covered as well. Here are the 40 best brunch spots in NYC right now and the 15 best cheap brunch spots in town at the moment. You're welcome!
