Uber is hosting a lost-and-found pop-up with freebies tomorrow

Since someone left 175 cheeseburgers in an Uber last year, the company will be distributing free Shake Shack burgers during the event as well.

Every year, ride-sharing company Uber drops its lost and found index, a snapshot of the most commonly forgotten and most unique items left behind in the cars (we've all been there, right?). This year, though, the company is doing things a bit differently: in addition to releasing its upcoming index, Uber is hosting its first-ever lost and found pop-up right here in New York City.

Tomorrow, April 8, from 11am to 4pm, New Yorkers will have a chance to physically browse through some of the most unusual items forgotten in Ubers. The event—which is totally free to attend—will be set up smack-dab in the middle of the Flatiron at Fifth Avenue between 22nd and 23rd Streets.

In addition to the exhibit of sorts, attendees will learn how to actually get their stuff back should they ever forget something while rushing out of their shared rides. They'll also enjoy a bunch of limited-time freebies. Aptly, those will be some of the most commonly lost items, according to an official press release. In case you were wondering, that list includes headphones from Bose, umbrellas, lattes, lip glosses, bags, all sorts of snacks and... cheeseburgers.

Believe it or not, someone lost 175 cheeseburgers in the backseat last year, according to the release. So, during the pop-up, organizers will be giving out free Shake Shack burgers from noon to 3pm, while supplies last.

From food to makeup and everything in between, there are certain things we all tend to unintentionally leave behind when exiting our Ubers. But above all, the most commonly forgotten item seems to be the phone. So here’s a bit of advice: when stepping out of your Uber, double-check that you have your phone in hand!
