We're always wary of unofficial surveys concerning New York's transportation system—but we also can't look away from the results. Case in point: a new study by CPAP.com, a CPAP machine vendor, about the most sleep-friendly metro rail systems and lines in the world.

According to the survey, our very own Q train is the most "sleep-friendly" one locally.

"With an on-time operation rate of 96.1% and 195.8 million passengers hopping on and off this line at 29 stations per year, the 2nd Avenue/Broadway Express line cements its #1 spot," reads the report.

The top five ranking is rounded out by the S 42 St at the number two spot, followed by the 1 train, the A rail and the F train.

Given the plethora of (mostly, anxiety-adjacent) feelings that riding the city's transportation system instills in us, we are not sure what to think of the results but, alas, we trust the experts and will try to relax the next time we traverse town on the Q line.

The study also analyzed the most sleep-friendly metro rail systems globally, a ranking that was topped by the Sydney Metro in Sydney, followed by Toronto's TTC, the Copenhagen Metro, Philly's SEPTA Metro and, at number five, Metro Bilbao. New York appeared on this specific list as well, at position number 14.

What do we take from this all? Mostly, that not every part of our subway system is as bad as we think it is—despite delays, service disruptions and hygiene-related setbacks. Perhaps, right before Thanksgiving, we can try our best to be a bit more thankful for the services that this great city of ours offers us daily.
