Although Miami’s Faena Hotel is primarily known among a certain crowd—wealthy, attractive and well-connected—we can’t help but think that’s precisely why its first New York venture, set to open in late spring at 500 West 18th Street inside One High Line, is poised to be a major success.
According to Markets of Tomorrow, the property, designed by Bjarke Ingels, will feature a total of 120 rooms with views of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline.
"The building's structure integrates sculptural contemporary design with the industrial history of the neighborhood," reports the outlet. "The hotel interiors, designed by Paris-based Gilles & Boissier, incorporate custom furnishings and materials selected to complement the architectural framework of the space while aiming to highlight influences of the city’s cultural and artistic history."

The high-end destination will also feature a 5,000-square-foot culinary concept helmed by Argentinian chef Francis Mallmann. Known for his propensity for live-fire cooking, expect open-fire techniques to take center stage at the restaurant.
Perhaps most exciting is the fact that the hotel will also be home to an outpost of its signature spa in New York. The 17,000-square-foot Tierra Santa Healing House will offer both hotel guests and pass holders "a range of healing rituals and treatments alongside a fitness center equipped with state-of-the-art training facilities."
It's still not open but we can confidently say that, when it does, Faena will be a top contender on our best hotels in NYC list.
