Last week, Sweet Graffiti opened in midtown Manhattan at 51 West 32nd Street by Broadway, completely changing the dessert landscape in the area.

The brainchild of Hospitality Department, the shop offers a variety of art-driven treats that have already popped off on social media—starting with the Pad Thai cookie, which looks and tastes just like what it sounds. Prepared with peanut butter, lime, coconut and chili, the cookie is just one of the many eclectic menu items created by pastry chef Romina Peixoto.

Funnily enough, according to Sweet Graffiti partner Stephen Loffrado of Hospitality Department, the business was originally set up as a donut shop but, following a meeting with Peixoto, the owners decided to shift the concept and "offer something truly unique" based on the pastry guru's craftsmanship.

"Sweet Graffiti isn’t just a bakery or chocolate shop—it’s a boutique sweet shop featuring an exciting array of baked goods, chocolates, confections, ice cream pops and soft serve," Loffrado told Time Out New York.

In addition to the delectable Pad Thai cookie, social media users may have noticed the Oaxaca all over their feeds: a stuffed chocolate bar with mole, corn tortillas and coffee that reminds of the viral Dubai chocolate in concept, but not in flavor.

Also on offer are 15 different flavors of house-made bonbons, from strawberry lychee prosecco to banana foster, lemon yuzu and raspberry cayenne, among others.

As a nod to the space's donut shop origins, the staff is also serving "fronuts," which are donut-shaped, frozen desserts of different flavors, including matcha, caramel miso and koji, which is actually a mold grown on barley or rice that produces miso and umami-like flavors.

Don't miss out on the "stacked" cream puffs, though: basically a tower of cream puffs of different sizes, each one boasting a unique filling and finished with a colorful spray that "cascades down the layers," according to an official press release.

If anything, the bakery deserves an A+ for creativity.
