Six Flags, one of the very best places to visit during summer in New York, has just kicked off its 2025 season—and a new highly anticipated ride has already panicked visitors (in a good way).

The Flash: Vertical Velocity is a novel coaster featuring twists, vertical drops, backward launches and overall high-speed fun. Guests can enjoy unlimited rides on the new machine (well, until your stomach can manage them, of course) with a gold season pass.
You can still, of course, opt for a regular ticket, which will also afford you access to the park's new food and beverage offerings. Helmed by executive chef Jeremy Hacket, the menu features both quick bites and more upscale dining options.
But there are more seasonal highlights of the non-culinary kind to keep in mind as well: the Wild Safari area, for example, is home to over 1,200 animals from six different continents, including a "reticulated giraffe calf" whose coat consists of block-like spots that extend all the way to her legs, tail and face. Her name is Coral!

The Savannah Sunset Resort and Spa is scheduled to open for its first full season this year also.
"The unique retreat nestled within the heart of the 350-acre Wild Safari offers breathtaking panoramic views," reads an official press release. "The oasis, which includes family and couples glamping suites, is perfect for those seeking both relaxation and adventure and offers up-close animal encounters, culinary comforts and VIP tours."
Sounds like a thrilling vacation to us!
