These were the most checked out library books in NYC in 2024

For the first time ever, NYC's three public library systems—the New York Public Library, Brooklyn Public Library and Queens Public Library—have joined forced to release a citywide list of top checkouts for 2024. Gathering data from all of their branches across the five boroughs, the libraries unveiled the most popular titles in three categories: adults, young adults and children.

Before diving into the details—which take into account all formats: e-books, audiobooks and physical books—a shout to author Gabrielle Zevin, whose 2022 tome Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow was the most checked-out title across all three library systems.
