Here's the stuff of musical dreams: in honor of the 30th anniversary of the band's first ever album release on a major label, Do You Want More?!!!??!, The Roots will be playing a six-show residency at the iconic Blue Note in downtown Manhattan this March.

"We are doing six early Roots era focused shows," Questlove, the band's drummer and joint frontman announced on Instagram earlier today, under a photo of a poster detailing the event. According to the flyer, the band will play two shows per night between March 13 and 15, the first at 8pm and the second at 10:30pm.

In a separate video post, Questlove is joined by co-founder and lead MC Black Thought.

"It's where it all began," says Questlove on camera.

"We’re going back to 1995, 1996… What we will do is have fun with it," continues Black Thought.

Although tickets for the residency shows are available online right here, the majority have already sold out. You can find them on the secondary market for an exorbitant price or, perhaps, continue monitoring the Blue Note's website for any changes.

The excitement surrounding the musical events doesn't surprise us: despite their nightly presence on TV as the house band on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Roots have not released a new album since 2014's And Then You Shoot Your Cousin. Many believe the string of intimate shows and the 30-year album anniversary to be indicators of new music to come. Here's to hoping!
