Carrie Bradshaw is stepping out of fiction and onto the stage. Well, sort of.

Candace Bushnell, the real-life creator of Sex and the City and the woman behind everyone’s favorite columnist-in-Manolos, is bringing her hit one-woman show, “True Tales of Sex, Success, and Sex and the City,” back to New York for one night only on May 16 at Sony Hall. And yes, it’s basically the ultimate girls’ night out.

After a run across Europe, Bushnell will bring her signature wit, cosmopolitans and cautionary tales back to Manhattan. The show is equal parts memoir and gossip column come to life, as Bushnell dishes on everything from her Studio 54 days to the real Mr. Big (spoiler: he was kind of a jerk). Expect stories that are juicy, hilarious and just the right amount of scandalous.

“[This show] is about how I created Sex and the City, how hard I worked to get there, why I invented Carrie Bradshaw and what happened to me afterwards,” Bushnell told Time Out back in 2023. Also on the docket? Dating disasters, female friendships and a cheeky game of “Real or Not Real,” which just might blow your mind if you thought that iconic “The Rabbit” episode was entirely fictional.

Although she took the show on the road, for Bushnell, New York is still the city.

“Especially as a woman, it’s a place where you can be ambitious,” she said to Time Out. “It's really a woman’s city.”

She spends her time biking in Central Park, sipping espresso at Ralph’s on Madison and dreaming about late-night adventures at The Nines (if only it didn’t start so late).

Whether you’re a diehard fan or just need a break from dating apps and overpriced martinis, this is your chance to see the city through Bushnell’s perfectly lined eyes. Snag tickets to the show right here.

And just like that...your Friday night plans are sorted out.
