When Nonna Dora's Pasta Bar opened in Kips Bay back in 2022, it was all the rave—and for good reason: not only are the pasta dishes on offer absolutely delicious, but the space is run by an 85-year-old Italian grandmother, Addolorata Marzovilla (lovingly referred to as Dora), that seems to be the emblem of what all New Yorkers hope to be: full of energy, creatively curious and a star in the kitchen.
Lest you think that approaching 90 years old would convince Marzovilla to slow down, think again: What Now New York reports that the restaurant just signed a 10-year lease at 200 Church Street in Tribeca, between Duane and Thomas Street, the space formerly occupied by Tribeca Kitchen.
No specific opening date has yet been announced and menu details are still under wraps but, considering Marzovilla's background, we expect the food at the new location to be stellar.

For reference, Marzovilla has been making pasta by hand for 70 years now. First in Puglia, where she is from, then at her son's now-closed restaurant I Trulli and, currently, at the first location of Nonna Dora's at 606 Second Avenue by 34th Street.
Although patrons have been singing the praises of all of her pasta dishes, we must mention some our favorites, including the cavatelli with broccoli rabe and toasted almonds, the ceci e tria dish (fresh and fried pasta cooked with chickpeas, tomatoes and pecorino cheese) and Marzovilla's tagliatelle with mushrooms in truffle sauce. All absolutely delectable, the orders truly showcase the breadth of Italian cuisine and the mastery of the chef that's preparing them all.
Clearly, we're extremely excited about this new opening. There will never be enough Italian restaurants in New York, after all.
