After a pretty dry but lengthy winter, NYC is heating up … a lot!
Weather predictions say that NYC will see temperatures in the 80s this week, which seems a little too soon, given we haven’t seen many days in the 60s or 70s yet.
RECOMMENDED: A massive spring market will be open for shopping at Bryant Park
That’s about to change this week with temperatures predicted to average 8-10 degrees above normal.
NYC is hitting a high of 65 on Monday and will be followed by increasing temperatures all week: 74 on Tuesday, 77 on Wednesday, 82 on Thursday and 84 on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
“Higher than normal heights in the mid-levels of the atmosphere often signal warmer temperatures, and warm air advection is expected to continue into the midweek time frame,” writes NY Metro Weather. “The result will be a handful of days that currently look to feature both warmer than normal and dry conditions. The magic sauce.”
That’s right—New Yorkers will get to bask in summer-like weather all week! Even the weekend will be in the 70s, just perfect spring weather.
Forecast high temperatures will gradually increase over the next few days as a prolonged stretch of warm and dry weather moves in. Highs in the mid 70s are possible by Wednesday. 😎 pic.twitter.com/JBNDORZsNV

This will be the perfect week to take advantage of NYC’s many great outdoor sculptures, hit up the NYBG’s Orchid Show, finally get to a rooftop bar, get your kicks at Coney Island, play Pickleball at Central Park, visit Governors Island and do some cherry blossom peepin’!
