Believe it or not, you're actually going to want to spend time inside of LaGuardia Airport moving forward as Delta just debuted its stunning new Terminal C as part of an overall $12 billion infrastructure project.
According to an official press release, at a cost of $4 billion (including a $500 million investment by the Port Authority for new roadways and supporting infrastructure), the new terminal represents the airline's largest-ever investment in an airport facility... and it shows. Add to it all the recent revamping of Terminal B and you've got yourself a pretty awesome local airport.
The state-of-the-art Terminal C now features a massive centralized lobby replete with a ton of both full-service and self-service kiosks, a number of restaurant options (Starbucks, Chuko Ramen and Bubby's Diner, among others), specialty retail stores and the largest Delta Sky Club in the system. The latter venue boasts "architectural touches that evoke New York City from the turn of the 20th century, such as harlequin-patterned screens and rich warm metals."
Perhaps most originally, the destination will also be home to a partnership art program with the Queens Museum. Expect custom pieces from six local artists "that share a compelling story of New York's immigrant history, its people and the importance of the city's diversity" to be on display. Plus: two massive digital art installations will be on view throughout the space.
Without further ado, here are some photos of the beautiful new terminal at LaGuardia:
