It's a good day when the world at large recognizes NYC's all-around amazingness.

Today is that day: Resonance Consultancy, a marketing group, just released its ranking of the best cities in the world for 2025 and New York appears in the number two spot. The report, produced in partnership with Ipsos, looks at both "the performance and perception of cities around the world," according to an official press release.

The organization surveyed over 22,000 folks across 31 different countries, analyzing factors related to livability, lovability and prosperity to come up with its ranking.

For the tenth year in a row, London tops the list.

"Navigating the complexities of a post-Brexit era, geopolitical uncertainties and economic challenges, London’s resilient spirit and unmatched global appeal have solidified its place at the pinnacle of our annual ranking," reads the official report. "It is the only city in this year’s ranking to capture the top spot in an impressive seven of our 28 subcategories, from nightlife and museums to Instagram hashtags."

New York, the only American town to appear in the top ten, climbed the ranking this year. In 2023, we landed at position number three but are now the second best city in the world. Woohoo!

"The Big Apple epitomizes urban recovery, marked by a whirlwind of new shows, hotels, cultural spaces and transformative developments—backed by record real estate prices and an influx of both visitors and new residents," reads the report. "With a rebound as impressive as its skyline, NYC’s resurgence is nothing short of remarkable, embodying the city’s indomitable spirit." We couldn't agree more.

Also mentioning the city's upturn in real estate and the increasing number of tourists reportedly visiting, the study specifically looks at the various improvements to the local transportation infrastructure network, from the new Terminal One at JFK to the revamped LaGuardia Airport

It is, indeed, a good day to live in New York!
