Forgive us for the late notice, but savvy New Yorkers who worship fashion icon Iris Apfel need to cancel their plans tonight. Ever-changing concept shop STORY (144 Tenth Ave) is hosting a trunk show with the interior designer from 5 to 7pm, during which the stylish New Yorker touts one-of-a-kind jewels and accessories from her very own personal collection.

The 96-year-old who grew up in Queens, New York is widely-known for her eclectic taste in bling as well as fabrics. Simply put: The bolder the better, and, damn, does she rock the eye-catching look well. For those who want to follow in her footsteps, prices for her treasured baubles start at a reasonable $40 and go all the way up to $895.

Our advice? Get there, like, now. The event is first come, first served, and you can count on a line out the door. FYI: This isn’t a meet-and-greet, so if you want Apfel to sign her book or any book about her that you've picked up, you’ll have to find a way to do it on your own time. But you can take a photo with her (if you buy something) and make all your Instagram followers jealous.

You should also use this opportunity to admire STORY’s latest digs, which is currently designed as a modern and serene work space in addition to a store. Go here for all the details to the event, and if you’re looking for a place to work from now until May 25th, STORY has you covered too.
