This time tomorrow night, New Yorkers will don their finest attire (much of it sequined) and head to the streets to say “goodbye” to 2024. Because we live in one of the greatest cities in the world, there is plenty to do to ring in the New Year (and we aren’t just saying that to toot our own horn … noisemaker, in this case). From our iconic ball drop and luxurious NYE dinners to all-night parties that go well until the wee hours of the morning, New Year's Eve is one of the best times to be in the city. According to one study, we can now say that officially.

As reported by Travelbag, New York was named one of the world’s most Instagrammable cities for New Year’s Eve celebrations. The award-winning travel company analyzed social media posts as part of a wider study to identify the most popular cities for celebrating New Year's Eve.

With over 5,676 posts hashtagging #NewYearInNewYork, our city nabbed the no. 2 spot on the list. Most famous for our Times Square ball drop, this year’s celebration will prove to be just as IG-worthy, with performances by Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers and TLC.

Beating us out for the number one ranking is the ultimate travel destination, Dubai. With its stunning fireworks at the Burj Khalifa, Burj al Arab and Palm Jumeirah, the desert metropolis received the top spot with the hashtag, #NewYearInDubai, being used 10,029 times. Also sharing the list is Paris coming in at number three and London in fourth place.

Here’s the full list of Instagrammable destinations for New Year’s Eve celebrations. Save it for next year’s plans:
