Mumford & Sons, the British folk rock band that first landed on the scene back in 2007, announced that their first new album in seven years, Rushmere, will officially be released on March 28.
Ahead of the drop, the band will play a nine-date intimate theater tour across the U.K., Europe, Australia and North America that will conclude at the Brooklyn Paramount on March 26.
The presale for the band's official fan community, called Agora, will kick off this Thursday at 10am right here. General public on sale, on the other hand, will open the day after, on February 14, at 10am EST.
The series of concert dates comes with high expectations: the album is named after a London pond where Mumford & Sons was first formed, calling out to the group's origins after the 2021 departure of the band's banjo player, Winston Marshall. This will be the ensemble's first work as a trio, consisting of lead singer and frontman Marcus Mumford, bassist Ted Dwane and Ben Lovett on keys.
The album's title track, "Rushmere," was released with much fanfare last week and, if the reaction to it is of any indication, but New Yorkers and tourists will try to flock to the Paramount next month to catch the band live. Although no set list has yet been revealed, we suspect the majority of tracks from the new LP to be part of it.
Here is the track listing for Rushmere:
