Here’s what we know: according to some Reddit users, Lorde—the 28-year-old artist known for her unique alternative pop style—sent out a message to her "community text thread," simply urging fans to meet her at the park tonight at 7pm.

Given how cryptic the note is, fans have been trying to figure out which park she’s referring to, hoping to crack the code and catch a surprise show tonight. The consensus seems to be that the performance will take over our very own Washington Square Park in downtown Manhattan—the same location where Lorde filmed the sound bite for “What Was That,” her first official single in four years, which is reportedly dropping “soon,” according to Variety.

"I live in NYC and I received the text!," a Reddit user posted on the platform. "My first thought was Central Park but WSP makes more sense."

"I live in NYC, I’m gonna head to [Washington Square Park] around 6 and report back!," someone else wrote an hour ago, actually reporting back a bit later to say: "I'm there and the crowd is prett intense."

All signs point to Lorde surprising New Yorkers with a concert at Washington Square Park on this beautiful summer-like night in exactly 30 minutes. What are you still waiting for? Head downtown immediately!
