The change of the year always brings a changing of the guard on Broadway. Eleven shows—more than a quarter of the entire Broadway roster!—will ring down their final curtains in the first three weeks of January, 2020. Some are holiday specials with intentionally limited runs; others are at the end of longer runs (notably Waitress, which opened in 2016) or never quite caught the wind they deserved, like the very amusing Tootsie. If you haven't seen these shows yet, this is your last chance. Here they are, along with a select list of major shows that are closing Off Broadway during the same period. We've added stars to mark those of particular interest and two stars to the ones we consider must-sees.
