These last few days have been a godsend for those of us struggling to make it through the frigid darkness of winter. Temperatures have been reaching into the 50s, giving New Yorkers a reprieve and allowing us to don lighter jackets and even T-shirts underneath! Some of us are even wearing sandals (but shouldn’t).

Wednesday, today, will remain warm and sunny (take it all in), but clouds will begin to increase from the west as a frontal system approaches, bringing rain to NYC on Thursday. But, it’ll still be warm, according to the National Weather Service, with a high of 57.

When will it get cold again in NYC?

Friday will be slightly cooler with a high of 46, but the balmy and sunny 50s will return on Saturday, but will be short-lived as Sunday will bring back cold temps, with a high of 36 degrees. The next chance for precipitation arrives Tuesday night, when it’ll be in the high 40s, and into mid-week with mainly rain but with some possible mixing with snow closer inland. So we’re not out of the woods yet.

So, while we have it, enjoy the warmer weather and soak in all the vitamin D you can! Here are some fun ways to do that right now, including the Orchid Show at the New York Botanical Garden and the AR Gates project in Central Park.
