Traveling from New York to Miami is already a breeze, with numerous airlines offering daily flights from JFK, LaGuardia and Newark airports. However, the recent announcement of a new route from Long Island's MacArthur Airport has sparked excitement among New Yorkers.

Smaller and less crowded than its larger counterparts, MacArthur Airport is known for being easy to navigate, making it a popular choice for travelers looking to avoid the chaos of bigger hubs.

Located about an hour's drive from Midtown Manhattan, the Ronkonkoma airport will begin offering daily JetBlue flights to Fort Lauderdale starting in April. At the moment, the nonstop service is only available about four days a week.

Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter announced the new flights last week, adding that the service will initially run throughout April. If the flights prove successful, JetBlue may decide to extend the route beyond its initial period. Fingers crossed.

This development follows another recent JetBlue announcement: a new service from MacArthur to Boston, which will begin on April 30. These 48-minute flights will initially be available seasonally through September, but the airline may extend the offering if the route gains popularity.

Suddenly, having breakfast in New York, lunch in Miami and, perhaps, dinner in Boston sounds like a perfectly reasonable (and possible!) daily plan.
