Rooftop Cinema Club NYC 2025 lineup
May
- 2000s Coming of Age (all month): Look for movies that throw it back to an era when your AIM away message said it all—and every movie came with a dance montage, a makeover, or a highly questionable love interest. Think 13 Going on 30, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and lots more.
- XOXO: A Gossip Girl Mini Marathon (May 6): Gossip Girl is getting the big screen treatment with a mini marathon featuring the show’s most dramatic, chaotic and iconic episodes.
- Mom chéri: Mother’s Day Weekend (May 9-11): Celebrate moms in all their forms with movies including Freaky Friday, Crooklyn, and Mermaids. Some screenings even feature mimosas and muffins!
- Grease Sing-Along (May 14): Warm up your vocal cords for this full-blown rooftop singalong screening of Grease.
- Girls’ Night Out: Mamma Mia! Pajama Party (May 18): Grab your BFFs for a girls’ night out before Mamma Mia with karaoke, glam, goodie bags and the best excuse ever to wear silk pajamas out on the town.
- 500th Day of Summer (May 23): In 500 Days of Summer, Tom meets Autumn on May 23. And now on May 23, head to the rooftop for this perfectly-timed screening.
- Wicked Sing-Along (May 25): Don't worry about hitting the high note on the first try at this Wicked singalong screening.
- Last Day of School (May 28): Hosted on a legendary date, this screening of Dazed and Confused promises “the vibes are high, the beer is cold, and the future is … whatever, man.”
- ‘90s Kids Club (May 31): Get nostalgic with these hilarious, family-friendly movies like The Parent Trap, The Sandlot, and more.

June
- Pride Month (all month): Films this month will spotlight iconic LGBTQ+ stories, queer joy, and the people who make our spaces vibrant, bold, and beautifully themselves. A few highlights include Love Lies Bleeding, Queer, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Keep an eye out for an LGBTQ+ Singles Night on June 12.
- Cool Cool Chaos, a Community Mini Marathon (June 3): Rooftop Cinema Club is screening four of Community’s most mind-bending, paintball-splattered, cult-favorite chapters.
- Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (June 5): Save Ferris and celebrate June 5—the day off that started it all.
- Friday the 13th (June 13): It's Friday the 13th ... on Friday the 13th. Get it?
- Father's Day (June 15): This one's for dads, bonus dads, and chosen dads. A few movies include Finding Nemo, Big Daddy, and Good Will Hunting.
- RuPaul's Drag Race Mini Marathon (June 17): Expect a truly fabulous time at this Drag Race mini marathon serving up “drama, eleganza, and legendary shade” with three episodes from the iconic Season 9.
- Juneteenth (June 19): Celebrate culture and connection with films including Brown Sugar and Love & Basketball. A portion of proceeds from screenings on Juneteenth supports National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC).
- Drag Me to the Movies (June 29): Celebrate The Birdcage the only way that makes sense: with a rooftop drag performance with more drama than a dinner with the Keeleys and more sparkle than Agador’s thong drawer.

Time Out Tips for experiencing Rooftop Cinema Club
The cinema is perched above midtown's streets on the Skylawn rooftop of the Embassy Suites Hotel on West 37th Street where the skyline serves as an incredible backdrop. Don't worry about background noise, though: You'll get your own set of over-ear headphones that block out street noise, and you can adjust the volume as needed.
As for seating, you'll get to choose a standard high-back lounge chair or a premium lounge chair that comes with extra cushions. You'll book your ticket type, then get to pick your exact seat on-site, first-come, first-served. Ticket prices range from $23-$29/person depending on your seating preference and movie time.
Keep in mind that you'll be out in the elements, not in an air-conditioned theater. If you're going to a daytime screening, wear some sunscreen; if you're going in the evening, bring a jacket.
