Haters back off. We’re officially pledging our support for pickle soft serve. In the newly opened Lucky Pickle Dumpling on the Upper West Side, the latest release from the team behind Jacob’s Pickles and Maison Pickle, you can find this new unique flavor and embrace your love for pickles on a whole new level.
This fast-casual concept offers a brief menu of dumplings, noodles and pickles (duh), in addition to their soft serve flavors of pickle, matcha or a swirl of the two. We trekked up there to give it a try before we relayed our opinions on this polarizing treat.
By using cucumber juice, the ice cream gets a vibrant and bright cucumber flavor, while tangy like a pickle. It’s perfectly sweet with a touch of salt for pure enjoyment. So while you still might be skeptical, this may just be the most refreshing ice cream you’ll have all summer.
Call it a brine of the times, but we’re going to be all about this flavor all summer long.
