Ginger's Bar has been a staple of queer Brooklyn for a quarter of a century now, and the beloved lesbian bar is gearing up to throw a massive rager for St. Patrick's Day weekend from March 14 until March 16.

In an Instagram post announcing back-to-back events and parties, the bar mentioned the current threats to queer rights and their desire to create a space for "queer joy, resistance, community and love."

For its 25th anniversary, Ginger's will have live Irish music, DJ sets, Irish dancing and special guest appearances from Ireland itself.

"Ginger's has always been more than just a bar—it's a home for the queer community created by my business partner, the original Ginger, Sheila Frayne," Brendan Donohoe, the bar's operating partner, said in a statement. "For 25 years, Ginger's has been a space where people can be themselves, nurture community, celebrate their identities, and build lasting connections."

The statement also noted the amount of lesbian bars across the country that have been closing and the importance of spaces that affirm all parts of the queer community. Recently, the Trump administration removed all mention of trans people from Stonewall's website, further galvanizing LGBTQ+ spaces throughout New York.

Highlights of the three day palooza will include a Saturday, March 15 party that will start at 5pm with live performances by band The Shanties. Stay until later to hear sets by DJ Candy Warhol. For more daytime vibes, the bar will open its doors on Sunday at 4pm and host acts that include traditional Irish music and dancing.

Limited tickets will be available at the door, but your safest bet is to get presale tickets to all of these events, which you can find here. Keep in mind that you must be 21 and over and have a valid ID to enter the bar.
