We may be having an overcast and rainy week in New York, but here’s a little ray of sunshine to cheer you up. This afternoon, Taco Bells across the city are giving out free tacos! No, there’s no catch. They’re just free. (It’s because of sports.)
The fast food chain’s annual “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” giveaway is set to thunder across the country like a particularly noisy bite of a cheesy gordita crunch starting at 2pm. It’s all thanks to the first stolen base of the 2019 World Series between the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. Nationals shortstop Trea Turner stole a base in the first inning of Game 1 of the World Series way back on October 22 which triggered the giveaway.
.@TreaVTurner stole a base in the World Series™, which means you get to steal a free Doritos® Locos Tacos. Assemble at participating Taco Bells on October 30 from 2-6 PM, or order online or on the app all day to claim yours.
