Yes, it’s still freezing out there, but who cares about the temperature when you can warm your spirits with some free ice cream?

After all, today is one of the best days of the year: Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's!

A tradition since 1979—when the famous ice cream shop decided to thank its loyal fans "for all the love and support they showed us that first year of business in a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont," according to the company—Free Cone Day is celebrated nationwide, including right here in New York.

Taking advantage of the promotion is easy: just find the Ben & Jerry’s shop nearest to you using this tracker, head there anytime between now and 8pm tonight, and ask for your free cone. The best part? There’s no limit to how much ice cream you can enjoy, so feel free to get back in line as many times as you’d like throughout the day.

From the Scoop Shop at Rockefeller Center to the one in Hell's Kitchen and another at 104th Street and Broadway, there are plenty of participating Ben & Jerry's stores around town, so go ahead and snag a nice scoop of perennial favorite Cherry Garcia or, perhaps, opt for a newer creation. The Turtle Sundae, made with pretzel swirls and fudge-covered almonds, sounds particularly delightful—as does the Dulce De-lish, a salted caramel ice cream that boasts pecan toffee pieces and caramel swirls.

Happy indulging!
