One million years ago when I moved to New York, Long Island City was a mystery to me. "It's so far out there!" I would complain when my cool friends invited me there for dinner. "You want me to take which train? It's north of Green Point?!" What a fool I was!
In the fullness of time, I have come to realize that LIC is great and rather easy to get to, and as more bozos like me figure this out, the area is naturally changing.
The latest example of that ongoing change? It appears a brand-new Trader Joe's will be opening a location in LIC before you know it. LIC Post reports that the beloved grocery franchise will be moving into the Prime Building, currently under construction, in late 2020.
So if you've been waiting for that particular reason to move to Queens... now's your chance, I guess!
