Broadway's unquenchable thirst for jukebox musicals continues. Entertainment Weekly confirms that the Great White Way is eyeballing the late King of Pop himself for a big splashy musical, tentatively slotted for 2020. Written by Lynn Nottage (Sweat) and choreographed and directed by Christopher Wheeldon (2015's An American in Paris), the yet-to-be-titled extravaganza won't be the first Jackson estate–approved theatrical production. Not one but two Cirque du Soleil shows (Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour and Michael Jackson: One) have been staged since Jackson's passing.
