Free-jazz bass master and Vision Festival patriarch William Parker comes to the Stone for an impressive six-night run that covers a wide span of stylistic turf. Bands both long-running and rarely spotted will appear, including Painters Autumn (Oct 8); In Order to Survive and Raining on the Moon (Oct 10); and O'Neal's Porch (Oct 11). We're also mighty intrigued by a new septet, Theatre of Lanterns (Oct 9). The run coincides with Wood Flute Songs, a hefty and handsome new Parker box set on Aum Fidelity. See thestonenyc.com for the complete nightly schedule.
