Like a Long Island version of Weezer, Wheatus makes nasal-voiced goof-off pop with teenage appeal—case in point: its breakthrough 2002 single, "Teenage Dirtbag." The band received an unexpected boost recently, thanks to One Direction's performance of that song at one of its shows, and went on to collaborate with members of the 1D backing band. Opening are nerdcore hip-hop man Schaffer the Darklord and raunchy rap trio Hand Job Academy.
