Since arriving here nearly ten years ago, saxist and composer Travis Laplante has emerged as a powerful voice in New York’s experimental music scene. In 2010, his noise-jazz quartet Little Women released its full-length debut, Throat, to high acclaim; last year, Laplante issued a fine unaccompanied LP, Heart Protector, that ranged from the unapologetically visceral to the deeply emotive. Here he debuts an inventive sax-drums lineup with Ingrid Laubrock, Tom Rainey and Randy Peterson.
