Brooklyn rapper and singer Tim Fite reminds us a bit of early Beck the way he recycles junk-bin samples into clever songs. In the past, his music has provided both marvelously weird stylistic clashes and funny send-ups of commercial rap. On his latest project, Resist, Fite addresses racism and police brutality through the lens of agressive rap-rock. Get there early for the Woes, a compelling local combo playing a kind of avant-minded hillbilly music, and harmony-soaked indie-folk outfit Wild Manes.
