The Robert Glasper Experiment with Q-Tip and Bilal + José James's Blackmagic

Lincoln Center Out of Doors. Pianist Robert Glasper has managed to seamlessly unite bebop and B-boy impulses with surpassing eloquence and savvy, doing full honors to each half of the equation. He's working tonight with rap icon Q-Tip and soul singer Bilal; in the opening slot is José James, a young baritone who updates the honey-dripping tradition of Billy Eckstine and Johnny Hartman for a hip-hop generation.
