The Power Quintet

Soul sophisticate Jeremy Pelt's robust tone has turned him into a scene-making jazz trumpeter to watch. Some recent recordings—including the sharp Face Forward, Jeremy—have explored mood-driven electrojazz, but we expect he'll be showing off the impeccable postbop chops demonstrated on this year's Tales, Musings, and Other Reveries at these gigs, which feature pianist Danny Grissett, vibraphonist Steve Nelson, bassist Peter Washington and drummer Bill Stewart.
